PortBusiness.org promoting global trade and economic growth for ports throughout the world!
Port Business.org is committed to supporting sea trade, opposing protectionist policies while encouraging port security.
The United States was once the beacon of market capitalism and supporting global free trade is now showing signs of protectionism. Often the opposition to port expansion is due to localism sometimes it is due to a fundemental misunderstanding of port business and what it can mean for a local economy.
Besides overt protectionism, perhaps even more pressing, is the obstructionism originating at the local port level. One inspector that decides to be obstenant can slow down clearances costing shippers and importers thousands of dollars. PortBusiness.org can address matters as large as U.S. Trade Policy to issues as small as a CBP inspector only stamping clearances at the end-of-the-day instead of as they clear.
Non-tariff barriers in many countries are preventing quality products from entering ports throughout the world. PortBusiness.org is dedicated to finding solutions that will make ports safer yet continue to encourage trade and commerce
We realize the economic value a vibrant, active port can have for a community and region. The economic gains in Latin America, the Pacific Rim, and Asia are largely due to ocean trade.
PortBusiness.org was formed to encourage business and expansion at the Port of Hueneme; however, we are committed to support communities seeking to encourage business, job creation and security at any port.
